2017 Running Classes
Conducted by Mike Barnow
White Plains High School Track
Presented by The Westchester Road Runners Club & The Westchester Track Club, in cooperation with the City of White Plains Parks and Recreation
The training sessions are interval type track workouts designed for runners of the longer distance events (3,000 meters to marathon). Runners will be divided according to ability. Each session will last approximately one hour, including warm-up and warm down.
The track is an all-weather surface. Workouts will be held on adjoining hills when there is light rain. Hard rains will be declared rainouts, and a makeup session will be scheduled for the following day.
Sessions will be supervised by Mike Barnow, the coach of the Westchester Track Club for the past 25 years. Barnow has coached nine Olympians and forty US National Qualifiers on the Westchester Track Club, and he has served as the head coach for the Somalian Olympic team for the 1984 Olympics. He has 28 years of coaching experience at the high school, college, open, and elite levels.
